What if some of your physical pain has an emotional root? The Emotion Code is a gentle, non-invasive technique for identifying and releasing trapped emotional energies that may be contributing to your symptoms.
The connection between emotional experience and physical health is increasingly well-documented in medical science. Chronic stress, unresolved grief, fear, and trauma are known to create measurable physiological responses — elevated cortisol, increased muscle tension, disrupted sleep, immune suppression, and altered pain perception.
The nervous system doesn't distinguish cleanly between emotional and physical stress. Both activate the same threat-response pathways, and both leave traces in the body. When emotional experiences are intense or overwhelming, the body may hold onto them in a way that continues to affect physical function long after the event itself has passed.
Dr. Wright offers the Emotion Code as one component of a holistic approach to care — one that recognizes the full picture of health, rather than treating the body as a purely mechanical system.

Book a VisitThe Emotion Code was developed by Dr. Bradley Nelson, D.C. (ret.) — a holistic chiropractor with over 20 years of clinical experience. It is described in his widely-read book of the same name, first published in 2007 and updated in 2019. The technique has since reached practitioners and patients around the world.
The method is based on the idea that emotionally charged events can leave energetic imprints — called "trapped emotions" — that reside in the body and continue to influence both physical and emotional wellbeing long after the original experience has ended.
Using muscle testing, a form of biofeedback, the practitioner works through a structured chart of 60 common emotions to identify which trapped emotions may be present. Once an emotion is identified, it is released using a brief, non-invasive technique: a magnet is applied along the governing meridian — the midline of the back and head — drawing from principles rooted in traditional Chinese medicine.
Sessions are gentle, non-invasive, and can address multiple trapped emotions in a single visit.
An Emotion Code session with Dr. Wright is a comfortable, conversational process. He will use muscle testing to identify whether trapped emotions are present and, if so, which specific emotions are involved. The process does not require you to relive past events or discuss difficult memories — it works at an energetic level rather than through verbal processing.
A typical session can identify and release 5 to 10 trapped emotions in approximately 20 to 30 minutes. The technique is offered as a complementary component of Dr. Wright's holistic care — often used alongside spinal adjustments and other treatments to support the whole person.
Many patients report feeling a sense of lightness, reduced physical tension, or emotional relief following sessions. Individual experiences vary, and Dr. Wright will always take the time to check in with you about how you're responding.
You don't need to revisit painful memories for this process to work. The Emotion Code operates at an energetic level — gentle, non-invasive, and respectful of your boundaries.
The Emotion Code is a complementary technique, and it is not a replacement for conventional medical or psychological care. It may be a valuable addition for patients who have physical symptoms that haven't fully resolved with structural care alone, carry a history of emotional trauma or chronic stress, feel that emotional factors may be contributing to their physical wellbeing, or are curious about a holistic, whole-person approach to health.
It may be particularly worth exploring if you experience any of the following:
The Emotion Code is a complementary, energy-based technique. It is not a substitute for mental health treatment, and Dr. Wright will always refer patients to licensed mental health professionals when psychological support is appropriate. The goal is to support, not replace, comprehensive care.
